Sage White - Scholars - The Gordon Parks Foundation

Sage White was born in Brooklyn in 1999. He attended PS 279, JHS 211 and the High School for Innovation and Advertising Media.  He intends to pursue a career in music and art at one of his top three college choices: Brooklyn College, Full Sail University or Delaware State University.  Sage’s passion for music began in junior high school when he began experimenting with sounds, and his interest in visual art deepened when he started the Rush Education Programs as a freshman in high school.  Since then, he has developed skills in drawing, sculpting, painting, printmaking, and collage along with an understanding and appreciation of contemporary art.  What started as a hobby for Sage is becoming a solid foundation for his self-expression.  As art and music have transformed his own life for the better, he hopes to dedicate his life to developing his craft and helping transform the lives of others. The Rush Education Program opened many doors for him and helped to show him who he really is. He has gained lifelong friends and mentors from their program.  Without the artists who served as his mentors, he would never have tapped into his potential as an artist, nor had the confidence to believe that he can do anything he sets his mind to.
