Mai Nagaura was born and raised in Japan and began learning photography at LaGuardia Community College at age 19. She is influenced by great documentary photographers, and currently engages herself in black and white film photography. After graduating from college, Mai returned to Japan where she worked as a wedding photographer. She currently lives in New York City where she is pursuing higher education at the Fashion Institute of Technology. Mai is interested in controlling light and enjoys photographing miniature figures and documenting their "lives."
