Lucia Gonzalez Manteco - Scholars - The Gordon Parks Foundation

Lucia Gonzalez Manteco is a multilingual British-Spanish journalist, multimedia producer, and documentary filmmaker interested in innovative storytelling techniques for human rights reporting. Mantecon holds an MFA in documentary film and an undergraduate degree in anthropology from University College London. Most recently, Mantecon worked as a video producer at Amnesty International. Previously, she worked as a producer at the Financial Times and a staff writer for The Calvert Journal, a leading publication for current affairs in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Mantecon's award-winning documentary Finding Alaa has been broadcast on BBC Our World, BBC Arabic, and CBC, among other platforms. 2023, she released her directorial debut, The Dream of Karabakh, published by multimedia platforms openDemocracy and SIMA Academy. Mantecon is attending Columbia Journalism School to hone her data reporting skills and become a leader in using investigative techniques and data-driven stories to shed light on human rights abuses.
