Destiny Moore - Scholars - The Gordon Parks Foundation

Destiny Moore (Destiny) is an 18-year-old African American female of Bahamian descent who was born in Miami Florida, where she currently attends New World School of the Arts and maintains a 4.4 GPA. As an artist, Destiny expresses her work through painting, photography, film and sculpture. The materials she uses consist of acrylic paint, pastel sticks, and chalk pastel on paper or canvas. Her work revolves around the prominence of black women by illustrating femininity, identity, race, and culture. Destiny is a 2020 YoungArts finalist and a YoungArts Presidential Nominee. She is a 2020 Rising Star finalist, 2020 recipient of the Miami-Dade County Scholastics Silver Key, and a member of the National Arts Honor Society. Destiny gives back to her community by volunteering as a teacher’s assistant at the Little Haiti Cultural Arts Center, a facility dedicated to exposing inner-city kids to the arts.
