Anelise Rodriguez is a junior photography major at SUNY Purchase College, from the Bronx, New York. In addition to completing her bachelor’s degree, she is currently completing a fellowship with the Ghetto Film School. Having graduated from the Cinema School, she developed an interest in photography through film, where she discovered a more open, expressive way of working that also strengthened her storytelling and narrative practice. What she enjoys most about the medium is how it encourages slow looking in a fast-moving world, revealing what often goes unnoticed. Currently, her work explores themes of beauty in the mundane, religion and spirituality, and the dual nature of growth and loss. Through her work, she hopes to encourage viewers to look inward, discover beauty in existence, and recognize the images, meanings, and connections that emerge when looking and working intuitively.
