Tamara Tesfai is an Egyptian-Eritrean photographer studying at the NYU department of Photography & Imaging. She grew up in Dubai where she was surrounded by art and diverse cultural influences that have shaped her as a person and her practice. As a portrait photographer, through her work she aims to capture the authenticity of the human condition, celebrating the uniqueness of individuals across various backgrounds, languages, and identities. Her recent work explores themes of togetherness, beauty, Middle Eastern culture, the human experience, and family. Tesfai's photographs capture intimate encounters, striving to convey the essence of the human spirit.
