Mina Grullon is a junior photography major at Purchase College, SUNY. Born in Queens, New York, Mina was influenced by the various cultures and people that surrounded her. Her work explores portraiture as a means of understanding people and questioning her own sense of identity. Mina explores abstraction through distorting colors and lights in her work to communicate feelings of loss and confusion. Her photographs are inspired by her childhood trauma and her healing journey, aiming to connect to individuals with similar experiences. Mina enjoys pushing the limitations of the photographic medium, delving into experimental techniques and uses of imagery.
