Born in Brooklyn, NY, and raised in Florida, lens-based artist Maria Montes Duran’s work encapsulates a range of experiences, including the love and struggles of being a Latina person in the United States. Montes Duran’s work highlights her experience within her culture, and has recently expanded to focus on contemporary social issues within Latine society.
