When I started as a Rush Kid years ago, I discovered a whole new way of exploring “art". We worked with unique people who shared their techniques with us and actually made their living as artists. They made us believe our visions were valuable. We began to see the art in everything around us, not just on museum walls. Rush classes gave me courage to use color, texture, and whimsy in my art. Being recognized as worthy of the Gordon Parks Foundation scholarship is an honor as well as a vote of confidence. College will be an opportunity to expand my creativity.
