Jovonna Jones is a PhD candidate in African & African American Studies at Harvard. Her research fields include black cultural production, African American & African Diaspora art history, and the history of photography. Her dissertation is on the aesthetics of housing and Black space between the Depression Era and postwar urban renewal, with sustained focus on the works of Gordon Parks, Charles "Teenie" Harris, and Eldzier Cortor. Jovonna has held curatorial internships and graduate fellowships at the Morgan Library & Museum, the Cleveland Museum of Art, and the Harvard Art Museums.
