Jessica Jacolbe - Scholars - The Gordon Parks Foundation

Jessica Jacolbe is a writer from Brooklyn whose work has been featured in Catapult, Garage Magazine, JSTOR Daily, and others. She is pursuing an MA degree at Columbia Journalism School concentrating on Arts & Culture writing with her thesis on the role of sunlight and shadows in urban communities. Since 2018, Jessica has been an arts and community organizer as a co-founder of Dogeaters Collective, a group of Filipinx American artists and writers interested in challenging identity and creating radical futures. She is currently a media fellow at Columbia University’s Center for the Study of Social Difference, an interdisciplinary research center supporting collaborative projects that address gender, race, sexuality, and other forms of inequality to foster ethical and progressive social change.
