Jamar Dacosta is a Senior at The Cinema School and set to graduate June of 2018. He’s
interested in filmmaking and more specifically, editing, because of the major impact it has on
telling the story. He likes pushing out various content that is abstract. His achievements range
from being part of both Thesis Films at GFS with two roles on each project. On the Frick 2017
Project, Unfinished Piece, he was Assistant Editor and Location Sound and on the Israel Thesis
project, Be Free, he was Editor and Location Sound. In addition to these projects, He is the
Sound Recordist and Editor for Ideals, a web-series directed by Romeo Ortiz,a GFS Alum. He
also has a channel called Studio Period in which he highlights talented youth from the Bronx.
