Jahqyad Austin is a sophmore college prep student from Harlem who has been part of HAS's Visual Arts Department for two years. He attends the School of Food and Finance where he is currently leanring how to become a pastry chef. Jahqyad photographs all of his dishes and is putting together a photographic portfolio. He is working on a series of paintings that evolve around race for the HAS student exhibition. Jahqyad is working with the National Jazz Museum in Harlem on a mural project that will be part of their permanent art project.
