Detola Badmus was born and raised in West Africa, Nigeria. He moved to the U.S. at 8 years old. He currently attends The Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts. Detola began singing in the United States when he was asked to perform the Star Spangled Banner at his elementary school graduation. He quickly developed an interest in the arts with his accomplishments and decided to pursue Contemporary Music for his first few years. As time passed in middle school and high school, he journeyed into different genres of music such as jazz, Latin/jazz, R&B, contemporary music and now classical music where he could implement his experiences with his skillset as a musician/ artist.
